Database Updates
Captools/net software updates are issued from time to time, from as frequently as monthly to maybe just a few times per year (or less). These updates may implement the addition of database tables and/or the addition or modification of database fields. When you initiate the update process from the Captools/net Server Control Panel you will be prompted to make a database backup if a recent backup is not found. This will preserver your current data in case the modification to the database causes a problem. After the update is run, you should re-launch the Captools/net Server Control panel, at which point that program will check for and implement the database modifications.
If, after an update has been run, you encounter an error while launching the Captools/net Desktop program, this is likely because the Desktop program is expecting a change in the database structure, which might not yet have occurred. To force this database update, run the Captools/net Server Control Panel, and click "Admin/Configure Captoolsnet Database". This will produce the dialog shown at Configure Captools Database. Simply click on "Ok" and the database "Fixup" process should proceed. When finished try re-launching your Captools/net Desktop program, notifying Captools Co. if the problem persists.
