Trust Fund Accounting
Captools/net Fund Accounting functionality allows it to also be used to effectively track trust fund assets with respect to the fund beneficiaries and with respect to the segregation of fund assets between principal and interest.
To create a trust fund accounting portfolio, create a "Fund Accounting" type of account and edit the account record to indicate that Trust Accounting is activated:
The Trust Fund accounting designation causes all relevant transactions and holdings to be categorized in the as "P" or "I" in the "Class" field, and to be accordingly segregated. This permits the participant accounts in the funds to be managed to provide cash distributions only from "Income" derived holdings as is often the requirement grantors of trusts often prescribe.
